Boarding Office Assistant

An exciting opportunity to join our friendly office team. To be the face of boarding , meeting & greeting our customers & their lovely pets

Duties to include;

Ensuring the smooth & efficient running of the office at all times

Responding to phone, email, social media inquiries

Greet, assist, build and maintain relationships with customers in a polite and professional manner

Engaging customers in a polite & professional manner

Maintaining files and records with effective filing systems

Updating & maintaining social media

Completing tasks delegated by senior office team members

Maintaining the tidiness & cleanliness of office at all times

Assisting with basic grooming care e.g bathing and nail clipping

Skills Required;

Excellent IT skills & knowledge of programs

Confidence in animal handling in particular dogs & cats

Excellent communication & organization skills

Excellent customer service skills

Excellent Admin & IT skills

Minimum of 1 years experience in a reception-based role

Minimum of 1 years experience in an animal based role

Hours;

8am – 5pm

36 hours per week including 1 in every 2 weekends

Pay: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year

Boarding Animal Care Assistant (Weekends only)

Full job description

Animal Care Assistant

Responsibilities;

– Day to day care of animals on site including dogs, cats, small animals & exotics, cleaning of accommodation, grooming, feeding, exercise, and administering medication if required.

– Ensuring animal welfare needs are met on a daily basis

– Ensuring animals receive appropriate enrichment for their specific needs.

– Exercising dogs via walking & use of outside exercise areas.

– Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness & hygiene on site, to the animal accommodation, food preparation, laundry, store areas, staff & volunteer facilities and ensure buildings/exercise areas are always secure.

– Carrying out health checks on animals and reporting any concerns & feedback to the management team.

– Assisting with Behaviour Plans by observing behavioural changes & recording & reporting to the Senior animal handler.

– Assisting with carrying out on-going assessments for animals at the Centre under the direction of the senior animal handler & management team.

– Working alongside, supporting, and guiding Volunteers and Work Experience students

– Keeping animal records accurate in files & systems.

– Working to Centre protocols to maintain high standards of presentation throughout the centre.

– Being responsible for their own health and safety.

– To undertake any other duties required by the Management team

Requirements

  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in animal or other related qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in the animal care industry
  • Excellent applied knowledge of canine/ feline behaviour
  • Excellent customer service skills

Shift pattern

  • 2 weekend days on an alternate shift pattern e.g. every other Saturday and Sunday

Rehoming Office Receptionist and Social Media Content Creator

Job Purpose

We are seeking a friendly, organized, and tech-savvy individual to oversee our social media pages. This role blends compassionate customer service with creative communication, ensuring smooth operations in the office and engaging content across all digital platforms to support the rehoming of animals.

Main responsibilities

Reception & Office Support

  • Greet visitors and clients warmly and professionally.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and online inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Schedule appointments and manage office calendars.
  • Maintain accurate records of adoptions, surrenders, and animal intakes.
  • Support the rehoming team with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and document preparation.
  • Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming.

Social Media & Digital Engagement

  • Create, schedule, and publish engaging content (photos, videos, stories) on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
  • Promote adoptable animals, events, fundraisers, and success stories.
  • Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries with warmth and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with the rehoming team to capture compelling stories and media.
  • Monitor analytics to assess engagement and make data-driven improvements.
  • Stay updated on social media trends and animal welfare best practices.
  • Liaise with Marketing coordinator and rehoming coordinators on a regular basis to ensure content is always current and up to date

Person Specification

Education:

Essential:

General education including English, both written and oral and mathematics

Animal Care/Welfare/Behaviour Qualification

Experience of:

Essential:

Reception, customer service, or office administration

Desirable :

Experience in an animal care or non profit setting

Skills and competencies:

Excellent communication skills

Computer literate including use of Microsoft and social media platforms which may include website/facebook/Instagram/Tiktok
